Spotlighting Miami-Dade’s Mayoral Race


With the recent updating of our Florida voter file, we would like to spotlight what is quickly becoming a very interesting race, the Miami-Dade mayoral.

Raquel Regalado, the daughter of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado and a current school board member, appears ready to enter the race which will be decided in 2016. If she does, the field will include three hispanic candidates, all of which have good name recognition with the electorate.

Miami-Dade voters by the numbers:

  • 1.2 million voters live in Miami-Dade
  • 57.3% are identified as Hispanic
  • 37% of these voters are High Propensity voters
  • 56% of High Propensity voters are women
