25 Years of Excellence in Politics and Technology

Aristotle was founded in 1983 by John Aristotle Phillips and Dean Aristotle Phillips.  The company’s principle activity was the development of specialized software and databases for elected officials.  With early success and rapid growth throughout the 1980’s, Aristotle is largely responsibly for developing the Political Technology field as we know it today.  The company also defined industry standard mechanisms to market and support its unique customer base, which by the 1992 campaign cycle, included the Presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Ross Perot, hundreds of races for US Congress, Governor and other state-elected officials.

Steady Growth

In the 1990’s, Aristotle significantly increased its number of employees, and concentrated on improving customer service, product quality, and the coverage achieved by its sales force.  The company opened offices in Atlanta and San Francisco, and commenced a program of training for a sales force that would triple in size over the next three years.    With regards to customer support, the company was the first in its field to initiate 24-hour toll-free telephone support line to service our growing roster of clients.  At this point, Aristotle was widely acknowledged as industry leader for campaign software and voter data, a distinction that it holds through today.

Philosophy

With our base philosophy of providing power tools for political professionals, Aristotle has continued its growth by expanding its portfolio of services, adding several new employees and opening offices in Toronto and London.   The success of Aristotle PAC and Corporate services has earned the company a trusted name for many Fortune 500 companies.  Our International Services division has bought the company global acclaim for its work overseas, including Campaigns & Elections International Campaign of the Year for its work on the Victor Yushenko campaign for Ukrainian Prime Minister in 2004.

The Future

By continuing our tradition of providing powerful tools for political professionals, our new focus on web-based development and services has lead us to re-introduce several of its flagship products, over the web, under the “Aristotle 360” banner. Along with the recent acquisitions of two grassroots firms, Legislative Demographic Services and Pontecchio, Aristotle has expanded upon its Voter Data, Grassroots Technology and Consulting services, while nearly doubling its workforce in Washington, DC.
