arstechnica.com As the United States approaches what may be one of the most definitive presidential election in modern history, political and technological experts are warning of the likelihood of traditional voter suppression tactics being compounded by the ubiquity of the internet.

Aristotle CEO, John Phillips, recently participated in the annual Computers, Freedom and Privacy conference, where he discussed strategies that political scammers may use to target and manipulate potential voters through online communications. Some of these strategies include hijacking or spoofing official campaign sites, spreading misinformation to discourage targeted groups from voting, and disrupting get-out-the-vote efforts through phone jamming.
