The Honest Leadership and Open Government Act, enacted on September 14, 2007 (P.L. 110-81), amends the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995. The legislation requires that all contributions to federal office holders committees and all expenditures incurred in the process of federal lobbying be reported.  Aristotle 360, PAC Manager and Campaign Manager all facilitate capture of the required information.

Some of the specific reporting requirements and formats have yet to be defined by the FEC and the Clerk of the House and Secretary of the Senate, particularly for third party software applications, such as Aristotle's market-leading compliance and political data management software products.

Data Entry Requirements

We continue to stay on top of the latest requirements and are working with the very authorities who are defining them.  Immediately, however, there are data capture and data entry considerations for all affected organizations, beginning January 1, 2008, which should be initiated now, in order to be ready for reporting.
