We Salute the Triumph of the Ukrainian People

President-elect Viktor Yushchenko and his top ally, Yulia Tymoshenko, in their pursuit of democracy and freedom through Ukraine’s peaceful Orange Revolution. In support of this effort, Aristotle International was honored to be part of that historic moment in the advance of human rights and democracy. In the tense run-up to the election, Aristotle was contracted to provide strategic consulting, staffing and technology to overcome censorship and electoral fraud orchestrated by an autocratic regime determined to hold on to power.

The Orange RevolutionIn concert with the leaders of Nasha Ukraina, and working closely withtheir Ukrainian colleagues, the Aristotle team:

  • Designed and deployed a voter turnout system — collecting and analyzing voter participation in each region and at 250 pre-selected bellwether voting locales.
  • Managed operations involving 235 temporary (Ukrainian) employees of Aristotle trained as poll watchers with innovative cellular real-timereporting systems to circumvent government shutdown.
  • Generated earned media, in the capacity of primary press liaison providing information to the international news media as the scale and scope of the government-sponsored fraud was documented.
  • Built the definitive computer turnout model using field data at the same hour from the October 31 Presidential first round elections and with turnout data from 2002 parliamentary voting.
  • Tracked and spotted the fluctuations in the eastern zones as the pro-government “ghost” voters suddenly appeared late in the day to offset the legitimate votes of the opposition candidate, VictorYushchenko.
  • Designed and launched Internet fundraising for Yushchenko’s “Our Ukraine” party (www.razom.org.ua), eliciting financial support from around the world.  Augmented contributions with sales of branded “Orange Revolution” merchandise, proceeds of which went to support the party.
  • Built and staffed a western-style presidential campaign “War Room,” for the collection and management of pre-election and Election Day information, including media operations.
